What Sign & Fill PDF does
Signing a PDF and filling in its form fields used to mean printing the document, signing it by hand, and scanning it back in — or handing your file to an online service that uploads it to a server. This tool does it entirely on your device: draw your signature, drop it onto the page, fill any form fields, and download a finished PDF.
It is built for the everyday cases — signing a contract or approval, adding initials, or completing an application form — without installing software or trusting a third party with your document.
How to sign a PDF
Upload your PDF, then draw your signature in the box using your mouse or touchscreen and click “Use signature”. Click on the page wherever you want the signature to appear — you can add it to multiple places and across multiple pages. Each signature is embedded as an image in the final PDF, so recipients see it exactly as you drew it.
Filling form fields
If your PDF contains interactive form fields, they are detected automatically and listed in the side panel. Type into text boxes, tick checkboxes, and pick from dropdowns; the values you enter are written into the PDF when you download it.
Private by design
Reading the PDF, drawing the signature, filling the fields, and building the final file all happen locally in your browser. Your document and your signature are never uploaded — there is no server to trust and nothing is stored.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF or signature uploaded?
No. Your PDF, your drawn signature, and any form entries are processed entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Nothing is uploaded to a server and nothing is stored.
How do I sign the PDF?
Draw your signature with your mouse or finger in the signature box, click “Use signature”, then click anywhere on the page to place it. You can add it to as many pages and spots as you like.
Can I fill in form fields too?
Yes. If the PDF has interactive form fields (text boxes, checkboxes, dropdowns), they appear in the side panel so you can fill them in, and the values are embedded when you download.
Is a drawn signature legally valid?
A signature you draw and embed in a PDF is a common form of electronic signature and is widely accepted. For high-stakes legal documents, check the rules in your jurisdiction or a dedicated e-signature service.
Does it work on password-protected PDFs?
It can open PDFs that use basic encryption so you can still sign or fill them; you don’t need to enter a password to add a signature.
