Object Remover
What the object remover does
It erases things you do not want in a photo — a passer-by, a power line, a blemish, a sign, or a watermark — and reconstructs what should be behind them. You paint a mask over the area with an adjustable brush, and an AI inpainting model (MI-GAN) generates plausible background to fill the gap, so the object simply disappears instead of leaving a hole or a smudge.
How to get the best result
Cover the whole object, including its shadow and a thin margin around the edges, so nothing is left to hint at what was there. Inpainting is strongest when the background is fairly even — sky, a wall, grass, water, or a floor — and harder across busy, detailed scenes. If a little remains after the first pass, use “Remove more” to paint over it and run again.
Private and on-device
Everything happens in your browser: the model is served only from Kitolity and your photo is never uploaded to anyone. Because the fill is AI-generated rather than a recovery of the real scene, treat the result as a convincing reconstruction — great for tidying photos, not for anything that must be a faithful record.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The AI runs entirely in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored.
How do I remove something?
Brush over the object, person, or watermark you want gone — the painted area turns red — then click Remove object. An AI inpainting model fills that area with matching background. Adjust the brush size for fine or large areas.
Where does the AI model come from?
It is served only from Kitolity’s own servers. The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads a ~28 MB model once and then caches it, so later removals start instantly.
What if the result isn’t perfect on the first try?
Use “Remove more” to paint over any leftover bits and run it again, or add a bit more area around the object. Inpainting works best on objects against a fairly even background (sky, wall, grass, floor).
What can I upload, and what do I get back?
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 20 MB. You get back a PNG with the object removed and the gap filled in.
Will it work on any object?
It’s great for wires, blemishes, photobombers, signs, and watermarks. Very large objects, or ones in front of complex, detailed scenes, are harder — the fill is convincing but AI-generated, not a recovery of what was truly behind them.
