Frequently asked questions

What can I summarise?

Paste any long text, or upload a PDF that has selectable text. The PDF is read in your browser, so only the extracted text — never the file — is sent for summarisation. Scanned/image-only PDFs won’t have selectable text; run them through Image to Text first.

Where is the summary generated, and is my text private?

The summary is generated by Anthropic’s Claude AI. Your text is sent over an encrypted connection and is not stored by us; under Anthropic’s commercial terms it is not used to train models and is retained only briefly for safety before deletion. Even so, avoid pasting highly sensitive material.

How accurate are AI summaries?

They’re great for quickly grasping the gist, but AI can miss nuance or occasionally get a detail wrong — always review the summary before relying on it for anything important.

How many credits does it use?

Everyone gets 15 free cloud credits a day, shared across the cloud tools; a summary uses 2 credits (a little more for very long inputs). Kitolity Pro adds more cloud credits — a one-time $5 pack of 100 that never expire, or 120 a month.

Is there a length limit?

Yes — to keep it fast and affordable, there’s a cap on how much text you can summarise at once. If your text is longer, summarise it in sections.
